Jessica Rudd, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd’s eldest child and only daughter, has said that the Australian Parliament House is like the bitchy high school girls from the Lindsay Lohan-starrer teen comedy Mean Girls.

According to the 28-year-old politician’s daughter, there’s a lot of “political bitching” in the Parliament, and that it’s not much different from the premise of the 2004 American teen flick.

“The corridors are a cacophony of scoffs, burns... eye rolls are more common than smiles,” she wrote on Cleo magazine. “Wednesday nights are party nights, Thursdays are for gossip – who hooked up with who, who got so blotto they were barely awake for question time.”

And she wants all that to stop.

“Why should we listen to that angry vitriol?” Ms Rudd said. “There’s an election coming up. We know things will probably get a hell of a lot uglier between now and then. It’s a bit like exam time – nobody’s sleeping and the vending machine is out of Diet Coke and salt-and-vinegar everything. Dire.”

Mean Girls is about a 16-year-old formerly homeschooled girl who returned to the U.S. after living in Africa for years. As she stepped into public high school, she met several student cliques, including the Plastics, the most popular girls in school.

It is loosely based on the non-fictional book “Queen Bees and Wannabes” by Rosalind Wiseman. Written by comedienne Tina Fey, the teen comedy starred Lohan and featured Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, Amanda Seyfried, and Lizzy Caplan.

It was both a critical and commercial success, earning over $129 million in box office sales against its $17 million budget.

Meanwhile, Ms Rudd and Bridget Abbott, the daughter of her dad’s political opponent Tony Abbott, have revealed their strategies in helping their dads win the election.

Both are showing their fathers’ humble life at home to appeal to voters, according to New Limited Network.

The Labor leader’s daughter said that Mr Rudd was the dishes at home to help keep him grounded, while Ms Abbott, 20, said that despite the Liberal leader’s busy schedule during campaigns, he was still expected to barbecue dinner.
