Khloe Kardashian-Lamar Odom Divorce Could Be ‘Dismissed’—Report
A divorce wouldn't be finalised if one party fails to file a response to the proceedings, and it might just be the fate of Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom's divorce. A new report claims that Khloe and Lamar could end up staying legally married after all.
Contrary to initial reports claiming that Lamar has already signed the divorce papers, entertainment news website Radar Online reported that Lamar hasn't actually signed. As such, it is anticipated that the divorce case will be dismissed in less than two months if both Khloe and Lamar fail to file further actions.
A source also revealed to Radar Online that divorce lawyer Laura Wasser has advised Khloe to formally file a default judgment since Lamar hasn't responded to her petition for separation. By doing so, Khloe will be officially single again, which she didn't really have a hard time getting used to because she has been living apart from Lamar for more than a year now after filing the divorce.
"With Lamar failing to respond, Khloe is well within her legal rights to forward without him," the source revealed. "But even after all of the heartbreak, there is a hesitation on her part to do anything."
The estranged couple split back in December 2013 after a four-year marriage. Khloe filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences, which stemmed from Lamar's alleged infidelity and drug abuse. Now the question is, will the reality TV star have a change of heart when it comes to breaking up with Lamar?
In a report by Hollywood Life, it has been said that The Superior Court of California County, where Khloe filed the divorce papers, has sent the former couple a letter dated Oct. 9, stating that the paperwork for the separation aren't through. The 30-year-old "KUWTK" star didn't respond to the court's letter. If Khloe or Lamar can't come up with a final decision regarding their separation, the court reportedly could summon them for a conference so that they can finally decide what steps to take as far as their divorce case is concerned.
