Kim Kardashian Changes Name to Honour Kanye West's Surname, Mom Kris Jenner Not Happy
Kim Kardashian is now Kim Kardashian West, with no hyphen. According to Yahoo Celebrity, Kim Kardashian made the change "official" by adding Kanye West's surname to her well-followed social media accounts. However, Radar Online reported this did not bode well with her mom and manager, Kris Jenner.
Despite their grand and lavish wedding, Kris Jenner does not want Kim Kardashian to change her name. According to Radar Online, Kris Jenner insists there is no way her daughter will become Mrs. West, at least professionally.
"There is no way Kris would ever give her blessing for the main cash cow of the Kardashian empire, to not continue to use that name professionally," a source shared to Radar Online. The source added Kris insistts she plans to "fight it tooth and nail."
Kris Jenner worked hard, and is still working hard, to build the Kardashian Empire. With the Kardashian surname branded on every franchise, Kris Jenner believes it will be bad for Kim Kardashian to suddenly become Kim West. From TV shows to retail clothing stores, the name Kardashian is now a trademark. As such, Radar Online claims there is no way Kris Jenner will allow her cash cow to cash out just for her new hubby, no matter how popular he is and how much he is worth.
"In fact, if Kris thought she could get Kanye to change his last name to Kardashian, she absolutely would," the source shared.
However, when it comes to battle of influences, Kanye West seems to be winning. Kanye West has quite an influence on Kim Kardashian's life and what goes in it.
Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are currently in Ireland for their honeymoon. According to E! Online, following their lavish wedding at the Forte di Belvedere in Florence this past weekend, the two have been enjoying themselves. They were recently spotted on a movie date at the local Irish Multiplex Cinemas in Tullamore, County Offaly, Ireland.
