Kim Kardashian feels optimistic about her health during second pregnancy
Reality TV star Kim Kardashian West is optimistic that her second pregnancy will be better than her first. After suffering through numerous complications when she was pregnant with her 2-year-old daughter, North West, the soon to be mom-of-two is crossing her fingers for a healthier second delivery.
“As of right now, I don’t feel like I’m gonna get preeclampsia again, which last time [contributed to] not only the weight, but also the swelling,” said Kardashian. She opened up about her pregnancy in an interview with Amanda de Cadenet for C Magazine.
She shared how the press and online followers would make fun of her during her first pregnancy, without knowing that the dangerous health condition was contributing to her bloated appearance. Preeclampsia also caused her to deliver her daughter early because raised blood pressure levels were making the pregnancy dangerous for both of them.
Apart from her preeclampsia, Kardashian also discussed the possibility of having a hysterectomy when she delivers her second child. This is due to her tendency to develop placenta accreta. This is described by News.com.au as a dangerous condition where blood vessels and other parts of the placenta grow too deeply into the uterine wall. This has created a hole in Kardashian’s uterus, which needed to be fixed before she could get pregnant again.
“If the placenta grows a little bit deeper than it did last time, then they are prepared to have my uterus removed, which is a little scary for me,” she explained. So far, Kardashian has only been complaining about suffering from extreme morning sickness. She even landed in hot water after the FDA called her out for an Instagram post that endorses a morning sickness drug.
She has also been sticking to a fitness regimen, which is helping her stay healthy and active during her pregnancy. In fact, she has managed her weight so well that speculations keep suggesting that she may be faking her pregnancy.
Kardashian is currently about 6 months along her second pregnancy. Her second child with rapper husband, Kanye West, is reportedly due around December.
