Kim Kardashian Finally Takes The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge After Being Nominated By Ellen Degeneres [VIDEO]
Kim Kardashian West has finally accepted the ALS Ice bucket challenge and she sure did it with a bang by doing it on "The Ellen Degeneres Show" and documenting it with a selfie!
Season 12 of the comedienne's talk show premieres with a week-long special and Kim was scheduled to guest on Tuesday Sept. 9. On the Monday show which officially opened the season, Ellen was joined by Anthony Carbajal, a 26 year-old fan who suffers from ALS. He nominated Ellen in his own video where he not only did the challenge but he also shared his family's history and their struggles with the disease. Ellen gamely took the challenge on the show and got doused with icy water along with her guest Carbajal. As she closed the show all drenched in icy water, Ellen then nominated Kim and challenged her to accept the challenge on the show. She also followed it up by also nominating Beyonce.
The official Instagram site for "The Ellen Degeneres Show" posted a teaser for Kim's guesting where the host held the bucket up over Kim's head who was preparing to take a selfie to document the moment. Kim also posted a photo on her own Instagram site with the caption: "Yep this happened on @TheEllenShow Thanks to@SarahJessicaParker @miraduma @olivier_rousteing@GiuseppeZanottiWorld for the nominations #ALSIceBucketChallange"
The day of reckoning finally arrived for the voluptuous reality TV star and the episode finally aired on Tuesday showing the full footage [video below]. Ellen did the honour of pouring the icy water over Kim's head while Kim assured her that she will document the moment with a selfie. Ellen even stopped mid-pour to ask Kim to make sure that she gets the money shot. Kim tells her that she got a good shot in between shrieks and Ellen completey dunks all the water on Kim.
Kim is the latest member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan to take the challenge after younger sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner. Their mom and manager Kris Jenner also took part in the challenge. Numerous other celebrities have posted their own videos including other big names like Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Charlie Sheen and even athletes like Cristiano Ronaldo. The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge calls on donations to be made towards research into developing medication and eventually finding a cure for the deadly disease.
