Reality TV star Kim Kardashian West has already been an executive producer of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” for many years, but this year, she is adding yet another notch to her ever-growing resume. The multimedia mogul has just released a brand new documentary titled “Red Flag,” which she produced for HLN TV.

"Red Flag” is a show about mental illness and how social media can help friends and family spot signs of the disease and extend help to their loved ones. Kim told her fans about the show via her Twitter page.

Kim also explained via Twitter that she partnered up with the producers of the reality show “Intervention” in order to come up with “Red Flag.” According to the HLN TV website, the show explores the lives of two people who are dealing with mental illness. The documentary follows their journey and shows what happens when social media intersects with mental illness.

The stories of Andrew and Kelley are only two examples of people with mental illness who have social media personas that gave signs or red flags to their loved ones about their condition. Kim stated on Twitter that she is hoping that the show will allow the public to be more aware of what’s going on around them and to open their eyes to the behaviour of their loved ones when they are online.

The show talks about warning signs and what to look out for if one suspects that a friend or relative may be suffering from some form of mental illness or disorder. Awareness and treatment of such issues may be able to save many lives, both those of the one suffering from the illness and those around them who might fall prey to possible violent behaviour in the future.

The documentary titled “Red Flag” premiered on May 5 at 9 p.m. on HLN Eastern time in the United States. Interested viewers should watch out for local listings in their area.
