Kim Kardashian West Reacts On Obama's Past Comments On Her And Her Family
Kim Kardashian West has finally broken her silence. In a recent interview, the reality star opened up on the subject of President Barack Obama's remarks about her and rapper husband Kanye West.
Speaking to GQ Magazine in an interview after a photo shoot, the 33-year-old reality star said that it was not appropriate for the President of the United States to comment on pop culture. She also admitted that she could not help but feel proud of the fact that the President himself is talking about her and her family. "Okay, sure, just the fact that the President of the United States knows who I am, and is talking about whether his kids watch our show is pretty cool," shared the reality TV queen.
Obama earlier called the rapper Kanye West a "jackass" in an interview with The Atlantic when was asked to choose between Jay-Z and Kanye West. "He [Kanye] is a jackass," Obama replied, with a perfectly even voice. "But he's talented," he added. This interview was conducted after the infamous incident of West interrupting Taylor Swift's MTV VMA acceptance speech in September 2009.
Later on, the President once again hinted during a Kindle Singles interview with David Blum that the Kardashians are not good role models for the American society.
Prior to the interview with GQ Magazine, Kardashian has kept mum on this subject. Now, she has openly declared the inappropriateness of the President calling someone a 'jackass'. Despite this comment, however, Kardashian still felt honoured to learn that even the president is aware of her unavoidable presence.
As reported by The Atlantic, Kanye West, who is one of the top five rappers of the decade and recognized as the most downloaded music artists of all time, is known for his erratic behaviour of sudden ranting and burst of tears in public. To date, he has won 18 Grammys.
Comparisons between Jay-Z and Kanye West have always been made by the public. Jay-Z usually scores higher due to his more balanced public image and his marriage to Beyoncé. The couple is also considered as very close friends of the President and First Lady Michelle Obama.
