With the beautiful socialite Kim Kardashian filing for divorce in time for Halloween, it simply became the news that everyone wants to get their noses on. It even beat the confirmation of Jessica Simpson being pregnant!

This divorce was somehow seen in advance by the majority except for her own husband Kris Humphries. This was the statement that Kim Kardashian issued upon filing for divorce:

"After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don't work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best."

It was reported that her luxurious marriage with the basketball star Kris Humphries amounted to around $10 million and was even captured by the press and featured on E! TV Special. She cited irreconcilable differences as the main reason and she even hired Laura Wasser, a top divorce lawyer who also handled leading divorce cases of other celebrities like that of Ryan Reynolds, Britney Spears, Robyn Moore, Anna Faries, Patricia Arquette, and a lot more.

According to Wasser, the assets of the popular couple will be divided according to their prenup. US Weekly states that the prenup is set to protect all the assets of Kim before the marriage and also get to keep all her earnings during the term of their short marriage.

This is Kim's second marriage with the first one being with producer Damon Thomas way back in 2000. This also ended in divorce by 2004.
