The ten episodes of season 1 are being directed by Soderbergh and it is not known whether he would continue for season 2 or not. The show is based in the 1900 era of New York City and revolves around some brilliant doctors, surgeons and nurses thriving at the Knickerbocker Hospital. The hospital's staff is led by Cilve Owen's character.
Apart from Steve Owen, the cast of the show includes Andre Holland, Jeremy Bobb, Eve Hewson, Michael Angarano, Chris Sullivan, Juliet Rylance, Cara Seymour, Eric Johnson, David Fierro, Maya Kazan, Grainger Hines, Leon Addison Brown and Matt Frewer.
Meanwhile, in regards to the show Steven said in his recent interview that apart from the individual cases, the script deals with other major issues which are prevalent amongst the staff of the hospital.
"But on top of that you've got race, class, immigration, corporate and administration issues. We're very conscious that this show is called "The Knick" and at the end of the day the institution needs to be the core connective tissue of everything that happens. We've spent a lot of time making sure that's the case and that we don't drift too far from the institution," stated Steven.
First two episodes of "The Knick" have already been aired.
