Kristen Stewart opens up about dating women
‘Twilight’ start admits budding romance with film producer Alicia Cargile
Kristen Stewart is rocking the world of “Twilight” fans yet again. However, she’s not reuniting with co-star and ex-boyfriend Rob Pattinson. This time around, KStew is dating a woman.
In an interview with Elle UK, Stewart has finally admitted her romance with film producer Alicia Cargile. The “Snow White and the Huntsman” actress even claimed, “Right now, I'm just really in love with my girlfriend. We've broken up a couple of times and gotten back together, and this time I was like, 'Finally, I can feel again.'”
Stewart, 26, opened up with her current love interest, Cargile, who was the actress’ personal assistant before getting into the film production business, according to Hollywood Life. According to her LinkedIn profile, Cargile is a freelance VFX producer and is currently producing commercials for Noman Editing Company in California.
To recall, Stewart and Pattinson met at the set of the first movie of the “Twilight” franchise in 2008 after being cast as Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. The pair was secretly dating until Stewart admitted in October 2011 that, “My boyfriend is English. Come on, guys, it’s so obvious.” The couple ended speculations about their romance with a public kiss in May 2012 during the Cannes Film Festival.
The Robsten romance was so popular it fired up rumours that the couple were planning of walking down the aisle until Stewart was caught cheating with “Snow White and the Huntsman” director Rupert Sanders in July 2012. This forced Pattinson to move out of the home they shared but the couple reunited a few months later. Unlike their onscreen counterpart Bella and Edward, Stewart and Pattinson finally broke up in May 2013.
Stewart was notoriously private about her relationship until now that she is dating a woman.
“When I was dating a guy I was hiding everything that I did because everything personal felt like it was immediately trivialised, so I didn't like it. We were turned into these characters and placed into this ridiculous comic book, and I was like, 'That's mine. You're making my relationship something that it's not.' I didn't like that,” she shared.
“But then it changed when I started dating a girl. I was like, 'Actually, to hide this provides the implication that I'm not down with it or I'm ashamed of it, so I had to alter how I approached being in public. It opened my life up and I'm so much happier,” she added.
