Kristen Stewart Out of ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ Sequel – Report

Kristen Stewart has reportedly been dropped out of the sequel of her own film. “Snow White and the Huntsman” will be bringing back Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron to reprise their roles, but left out Stewart and director Rupert Sanders.

Although it was a hit at the box office, the 2012 dark fantasy film was met with mixed reviews, with some critics praising Theron’s acting but panning Stewart’s.

According to TheWrap, studio bosses have talked to “Walking Dead” creator Frank Darabont to direct the sequel, though nothing has been set yet.

If the talk pushes through, Darabont replaces Sanders, who has helmed the first film, though has been involved in a scandal with Stewart after their affair has been exposed.

Stewart will also unlikely be coming back to reprise her titular role as Snow White. If she does show up in the film, it will only be a cameo role.

The sequel, or perhaps what should be called a spin-off, would focus on Hemsworth’s character, Eric the Huntsman. The title is also expected to dropped “Snow White” and be rebranded with a Huntsman-centric name.

Stewart’s exclusion from the planned film has fuelled speculations that it might have been due to the negative publicity she and Sanders have brought to the film.

Fresh from the success of the film movie, it was claimed that a sequel was in the works with Sanders and Stewart still attached to the project.

However, following the scandal involving the two, in which they were caught in a tender embrace even though Sanders was married with kids, while Stewart was in a relationship with her “Twilight” co-star Robert Pattinson, the project was shelved and replaced with the aforementioned sequel.

Sanders was married to Liberty Ross, who played Stewart’s mother in the film.
