Twilight star, Kristen Stewart, is in the running as one of the names being considered to play the lead role in Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman.

The movie will be directed by Rupert Sanders with possibly Viggo Mortensen being considered for the Huntsman role and Charlize Theron as the evil queen.

Several actress have gone ahead to take screen tests for the role namely Felicity Jones, Alicia Vikander, Emily Browning and Riley Keough. Stewart, whose name was sprung to the limelight because of the success of the Twilight movies, is already established enough not to do a screen test.

The actress has been busy with indie movies in between filming the blockbuster vampire movies. This could be her next big studio role after Twilight.

In the new updated version of the classic children's tale, the huntsman tasked to kill Snow White in the woods, opts instead to let her go and escape together. Sanders is primarily known as a commercial director, famous for his Halo games ads.
