Robert Pattinson’s girlfriend, Kristen Stewart has been slammed for being a ‘racist’ after the 23-year-old, Hollywood’s 2012 highest paid actress dropped out of Focus when Will Smith came into the picture, replacing Ben Affleck for the lead role.

Race and age difference are among the top reasons Kristen Stewart reportedly had for not continuing with the project. Kristen was seemingly following Ben Affleck’s footsteps for exiting an opportunity for another role that shows her Twilight days are over.

Focus is a crime, heist film by Warner Bros. And Kristen plays a novice con artist who teamed up with an older guy behind it. It will be directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa who were behind box office hit Crazy, Stupid, Love. There’s romance in the film as the storyline develops with Kristen’s character getting romantically involved with Will Smith character.

Kristen’s untimely exit from Focus has led to an unfortunate arguments that the Speak star is playing the race card. Some critics have debunked earlier reports that K-Stew is a uncomfortable playing against 44-year-old Will Smith for the age gap between the two. This is because Kristen was quoted as very excited when she was earlier paired with Academy winning actor and director, Ben Affleck.

Ben expressed regrets not taking the lead role for the film due to conflicts in schedule. Until recent reports that the Argo director had been replaced by another, but equally talent in Will Smith did reports that Kristen is exiting from the film.

In an attempt to heat up the drama, Enstarz is saying that MediaTakeOut is “insinuating” that Kristen is indeed a “close” racist” and the age difference as earlier noted by The Hollywood Reporter is out of the question.

Will Smith has not been officially announced to replace Ben Affleck. But MediaTakeOut pointed out that Kristen had walked out of the project ahead of any official announcements of Will cast to work opposite her character as con artist in Focus.

Perez Hilton insider has another take in K-Stew’s involvement in Focus. Instead of working as a con artist, Perez Hilton said in its report that K-Stew simply wanted to focus (pardon the pun) with her relationship with Rob and her priority to find a project with her and Robert in it comes on top of the totempole.

To justify further Kristen’s decision to drop of out Focus, the insider quoted by Perez also added that filming the heist project will get in the way with the time she needed to spend with Robert Pattinson.

Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson flew out of Los Angeles on April 21, Sunday with no reported destination. The actor is rumored to be headed to Toronto to begin filming for his upcoming project with David Cronenberg, Maps to the Stars. Robert had just arrived from Australia filming The Rover and he spent almost a month with Kristen in their L.A. lovenest.
