In a bizarre new advertisement, Kurt Cobain comes alive and enjoys a beer or two on a tropical island, with other pop culture's stars.

Kurt Cobain died at the age of 27. A self-inflicted gunshot took away his life. Seattle police has confirmed that the case is closed and the assessment has not changed even after 20 years of the rocker's death.

The 20th death anniversary of the "Smells Like Teen Spirit" singer is early next month and Internet is filled with rumours that police might reopen the case and investigate the true cause of Corbin's death.

"We knew with the 20th anniversary coming up and we knew there was going to be a lot of media interest," Seattle Police Department Cold Case Detective, Mike Ciesynski said to Seattle Crime News.

Mike watched numerous documentaries, read articles about Kurt's suicide and said they are all quite interesting.

"I can see why people have questions [about the case], but you can always point to something and say 'what if.'"

However, when Mike pulled out the evidence from SPD's evidence unit, he did find four rolls of crime scene photos which were never developed.

He said that it is nothing but a suicide and a closed case.
