Kurt Russell on Paul Walker and 'Fast and the Furious 7' Film: ‘He was a terrific guy, they’re having to rewrite’
Kurt Russell is in the seventh installment of "Fast & Furious" movie. He had only one day left of shooting the movie when Paul Walker died in a tragic car crash in Los Angeles. The 62-year-old star paid tribute to Paul Walker at Sundance.
Kurt called his last cast member Paul a "terrific guy." He also said that Paul Walker's death meant he was not sure about his own role in the film.
"They're having to rewrite, they're having to do whatever they're having to do to deal with the situation. Listen, it's catastrophic," said Kurt Russell in an interview at the Sundance Film Festival. He is there to promote "The Battered Bastards of Baseball," a documentary based on his daddy's minor-league baseball team.
"It's the worst thing that could happen to a movie, but it's not as bad as what happened to Paul," added Kurt. "So everything is in perspective. He was a terrific guy. And life is full of curveballs."
James Wan directed the latest action film in the "Fast & Furious" franchise. The movie is set to release in April 2015.
Kurt Russell is expected to resume filming sometime this year. Russell also talked about the character he his playing in the film, although he didn't name.
"Whether or not this guy dies off in the movie, we don't know, and that may have changed now significantly, too."
Paul Walker and his friend Roger Rodas died in a horrific car crash. The autopsy reports suggested that Paul died due to multiple injuries. Both Paul and Roger had no drugs in their systems at the time of the crash.
According to NY Daily News, Paul's body was charred beyond recognition and his eye colour and hair colour could not be determined through visual examination. Roger died from blunt neck, chest and head trauma and not because of the burns. Both Paul Walker and Roger Rodas died almost instantly after the impact.
