Aussie singer Kylie Minogue and Spanish model Andres Velencoso Segura are said to be having problems in their long-term relationship.

According to Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, Segura had walked out on Minogue after a heated argument.

Minogue apparently accused her lover of failing to give her emotional support while she is getting ready to release her new album, Aphrodite.

Friends of the couple told the newspaper that Segura had called off the 18-month relationship and that Minogue was "desperate to patch things up".

"They had a massive row on Wednesday of last week, at the end of which he told her it was over," an unnamed friend said.

"She and Andres had been bickering for a few days.

"She got quite critical of him, complaining he was not supporting her enough.

"Andres had enough. He told her it was over, that he did not need that kind of stress in his life."

The friend said that history seems to be repeating itself, with Minogue having failed relationships in the past.

"It seems to be the same old story as has plagued many of Kylie's relationships.

"She worries that she is not worthy of her lover's affection - especially, as has happened this time and in the past, if she is dating a hot young male model."

Promotions on Minogue's new album Aphrodite already started in Europe over the weekend. She went to the London premiere of Sex and the Ciy 2 by herself last week, and celebrated her birthday last Friday without Segura.

The two started going out in 2008 after Minogue's break-up with French actor Olivier Martinez.
