Kylie Minogue tells fans to 'relax' over mime
Australian singer Kylie Minogue called on fans and followers to "relax" following complaints that she mimed for her performance at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Minogue took to popular microblogging Web site Twitter to address complaints from fans and detractors alike that her performance on New York last week, was not live.
"Relax peeps, EVERYONE has to mime at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!," wrote Kylie on her Twitter page.
Miming or more popularly known as lyp sync is commonly resorted to by artists when their back-up singers and sound system can not be accomodated in the performance venue.
The Macy's Thanksgiving Parade float yearly features popular singers who lyp sinc, or mime simply because of problems with logistics.
Miming can be controversial since it is used by some to disguise their lack of singing ability, particularly in live or non-studio environment.
