Aussie dynamic superstar Kylie Minogue was threatened on Twitter but her fans were quick to act and showed endearing support to the singer.

Early Tuesday, the singer tweeted, "I love 1,033,861 of you LOVERS, but 1 is not a lover, just a deluded weirdo making threat #andthatdoesnotmakeyouspecial SO ... police alerted."

As mentioned, the celebrity already alerted the police of the situation. According to The Daily Telegraph, Kylie's spokesman confirmed that the matter is already in the hands of the authorities. Thus, the star refrained from commenting further about the issue.

However, fans were quick to render their support to the celebrity by sending her messages of support. There is no report yet of the identification of the person threatening the singer.

Similar incident happened to Kylie Minogue in 2003 when an English tabloid reported that Minogue received death threats. However, Kylie's representative said that the report was blown out of proportion. According to them, Kylie received letter to her London and at her recording company EMI. However, the letters are annoying in nature and not life threatening.

The previous year, the singer disclosed that she had been stalked by a fan for five years but believed the man meant no harm.

In 2010 she has also faced harrassment from former postman Mark Taylor, who sent a string of lewd fan mail to her and other female stars including Jennifer Aniston, Fearne Cotton and Dannii Minogue.

Minogue, who is celebrating her 25th anniversary as a professional singer, is due in Australia next month to appear at the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
