Australian pop star Kylie Minogue is still interested in having a baby of her own after she met her newborn nephew Ethan this week.

Minogue went bak to Melbourne on early Monday morning after her sister Dannii gave birth to her and husband Kris Smith's first child.

She was very happy to see little Ethan, saying he was "just beautiful".

In an interview with Nine Network's A Current Affair program, she was asked if she still thought about having a baby and she replied: "Yes, sometimes. I really don't know if that's going to happen for me. All I can say is, we'll see."

Minogue added that she would return home to Melbourne to give birth if ever she would fall pregnant.

"Quite possibly, yeah. There's nothing like having a mum around," she said.

She spoke about the first time she met Ethan at Dannii's home in the east of Melbourne.

"He had just woken up and was getting ready to have a bath," she said.

"I can share a funny story with you. I'm sure Kris and Dannii wouldn't mind.

"They were preparing him for a bath and Dan said, 'Go on, have a nudie cuddle 'cause he's just so tiny and precious and beautiful.

"I did that and then she said, 'Take him to the bathroom', and I did. Carried him through there and Kris had his towel, just a towel wrapped around him.

"And I thought, 'That's okay, because he's just got up. So we have a chat in the bathroom and I'm thinking, 'The bath's right there. That's an awful lot of water for a little baby'.

"Jetlag, no common sense, then I suddenly realised, 'Oh, you're going in the bath with Ethan. Sorry, that's why you've got a towel wrapped around you. I'll just get out of the bathroom."

Meanwhile, Minogue has nice things to say about her boyfriend, Spanish model Andres Veloncoso, and called him "a very stable, honest, fun guy" who is now "part of the family".
