Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr was hurt in a vehicular accident on Monday in Los Angeles, California. She had to undergo MRI scans and is now wearing a neck support, said Annie Kelly, her spokeswoman.

Reports said that another vehicle hit the supermodel's car on the LA freeway. The driver of the other card was arrested and would likely face charges.

Ms Kelly said Ms Kerr is in a lot of pain due to whiplash and damaged to her back, but her injury was not very serious. The model is thankful that her son, Flynn, and husband, actor Orlando Bloom, were not in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

She was initially taken to the hospital for treatment and tests, but is now home for recovery.

The injury is not expected to disrupt her schedule since Ms Kerr is slated to return to Australia in April for the unveiling of the new Qantas uniform which was designed by Australian designer Martin, who is based in Paris.

A car crash killed Ms Kerr's previous boyfriend, Chris Flynn, when she was 15. Because of the accident, she went into a deep depression. Her two-year-old son is named after her deceased boyfriend.
