Real Madrid will try to close the gap between them and Spanish La Liga rival Barcelona, as they take on the struggling Real Vallodolid at Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.

Fresh from a 5-0 demolition of Almeria last weekend, Madrid will enter Saturday's matchup on a high note as Gareth Bale and company found them matched against the 17th ranked Valladolid.

Real Madrid's ace gunner Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to sit out again after suffering a hamstring injury against Almeria. The Portuguese football star missed Los Blancos' 4-1 victory over Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League.

Despite Ronaldo's absence, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is confident his team has enough firepower to overwhelm Valladolid on their home field. Ancelotti also cleared that he has no ill-felling towards Sergio Ramos despite criticizing and booting out the Spanish defender in the 26th minute of their match against Galatasaray.

"I'm happy with how the team is playing, everyone is motivated,'' he added. I have no problem with Sergio Ramos and he has no problem with me. Ramos is one of the best central defenders in the world. He has experience and quality," Ancelotti said in recent interview via ESPN FC.

"The whole world knows how important Ramos is for Real Madrid... there isn't a single problem. He will play and do well tomorrow,'' the tactician added.

Real Madrid is also expecting the return of Luka Modric, who was suspended in midweek and took a rest in Almeria.

On the other hand, Valladolid is aware of their daunting challenge against Real Madrid, but some of their players remain hopeful of a possible upset at Bernabeu.

Despite playing without winger Patrick Ebert (suspension) and Oscar Gonzalez (knee problem), Valladolid striker Javi Guerra still thinks that nothing is impossible in football.

"Nothing is impossible in football and that's the mentality we'll take with us into the game,'' he told a press conference.

"We know it's going to be very difficult but at the end of the day this is football, it's 11 against 11 and although of course Real Madrid are a better team than us, they will have to prove that on the pitch,'' said Guerra via ESPN FC.
