Labatt Breweries of Canada has signed an agreement with the National Organising Committee and FIFA to sponsor the FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015TM. FIFA has issued a statement on their official Web site that the Canadian company happens to be the 2nd National Supporter of the tournament. Labatt is going to hold extensive marketing rights within the country for the tournament which is going to take place between June 6 and July 5, 2014 in Canada.

The Web site also boasts of the 'strong history' the company has in supporting Canadian football. The company has apparently been in a team partnership in Toronto and Vancouver. FIFA claims that Labatt will have the opportunity to exploit the energy involved in the FIFA Women's World CupTM.

Thierry Weil, the marketing director of FIFA, said that the organisation is delighted to have Labatt with them as the 2nd National supporter. The last tournament, which was held in Germany, showed the importance of the support of the national companies in making the even successful, he said. It is an additional advantage that Labatt happens to be one of the leading companies in the country. FIFA is looking forward to working with Labatt together as they gradually develop the road to 2015, he added.

Jonathon Ritter - the head of Media, Sports and Entertainment, Labatt Breweries of Canada, said that the company was committed to be supportive of the game worldwide. The company's partnership with FIFA Women's World CupTM is significant during the company's evolution of commitment to football, he said. The company is looking forward to connecting the enthusiasm involved in the sport by Canadian admirers and ensuring that they enjoy every game, he added.

Labatt happens to be the second company from Canada to sign up as the sponsor of the FIFA Women's World CupTM in 2015. The company that was the first to do the honours was Bell, the mobile telecommunication company. There are only six slots are available for National Supporters. One has to wait and watch which companies take the initiative to fill the other four slots.
