Lady Gaga has told movie executives to take a halt in offering her film roles. She just means that she wants to work hard for the roles she will play by going through the actual audition process.

The hitmaker, known for her eccentric fashion sense, says she has been courted for several Hollywood projects, even without proving her ability to act.

Gaga talked about it when interviewed by Ellen Degeneres.

"I'm not sure (about acting). When I talk about acting I'm always surprised that no one ever asks me to audition. They just say, 'We want you to do this movie.' I'm like, 'Why? You've never seen me act before. I want to audition, I want to work for it.'"

The "Born This Way" singer admits she would love the idea of getting to act in a major film with a notable director.

Gaga once mentioned she dreams of being in a movie directed by Woody Allen.
