Lady Gaga is set to appear as a guest in the animated comedy series "The Simpsons," according to the producers of the show from Twentieth Century Fox Television.

The blonde singer with eccentric taste, who has made millions with hits like "Just Dance", "Poker Face," "Bad Romance" and the recent single, "You and I," has finished recording her voiceover for the episode written for her entitled, "Lady Goes Gaga." The episode is set to air in the United States in spring of next year.

"It is one of the coolest things I've ever done," says the 25-year-old chart-topping pop star.

"I make music, but I don't do voiceovers every day of the week, and their characters are so awesomely convincing and sincere and wild and funny, I had to remind myself constantly of the sincerity of the humour."

The episode will show the singer visiting Springfield to boost Lisa's self-esteem.

"This is extraordinary! I was so excited when I heard that Lady Gaga made time from her busy schedule in order to be a guest in one of our episodes," exclaimed Yeardley Smith, the voice actress for Lisa Simpson.

"Since the conception of the show, I've always wanted to feature the most iconic personalities of our time," says Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons.

Lady Gaga once made an appearance in "The Simpsons" as Elton John's date for the Golden Globes. But she did not provide a voice over for her character for that episode.

Lady Gaga joins the long list of popular artists who have made appearances in the long-running animated television series, such as Halle Berry, Ricky Gervais, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Green Day, and Tom Hanks, among others.

"The Simpsons" recently had a salary dispute that fuelled rumors of an end to the show. However, there were negotiations between the voice actors and the producers of the show, resulting to two more seasons of The Simpsons, after the current 23rd season.
