Lady Gaga Inspired By Tony Bennett
Lady Gaga is reportedly flourishing and enjoying the friendship and companionship of Tony Bennett. As claimed by the singer herself, the 88-year-old jazz legend has renewed her interest in music.
In an exclusive interview given to the Parade regarding their upcoming album 'Cheek to Cheek', both singers found each other's company quite comfortable and encouraging at the same time.
As per Lady Gaga, she claimed that she was extremely devastated after the recent rough patch in her career owing to the poor market performance of her third album 'ARTPOP'. In fact, she even considered giving up music altogether. Lady Gaga also had to cancel a whole string of concerts due to her hip surgery, which further lowered her motivation level.
"I was so sad. I couldn't sleep. I felt dead", revealed the popular singer to The Parade. "And then I spent a lot more time with Tony. He wanted nothing but my friendship and my voice," she added
The two singers performed together for the first time in January 2013 for President Obama at an inauguration event. The duo collaborated again for their upcoming album, dubbing themselves as 'Tony and Lady'. The album is set to be released on September 23 and is much awaited by the followers of both the singers and all the music lovers.
Lady Gaga also claimed that during her recent low phase, she even seriously contemplated the idea of marriage and kids. As soon as she started working with Bennett, however, she obtained a new inspiration and decided to push striving for a family life further for a few more years.
The 28-year-old singer is one of the bestselling musicians of her generation. Winner of five Grammy Awards and 13 MTV Video Music Awards, Lady Gaga was also identified as one of the most influential people by the Times. As per Mirror, the singer is currently dating model and actor Taylor Kinney and would have settled down with him had she not met Tony Bennett.
Bennett is a celebrated jazz singer and a renowned artist. Some of his artworks are on public display in several institutions. He has received 17 Grammy Awards and two Emmy Awards for his outstanding work in the world of music.
