Lady Gaga has been immortalised by Jeff Koons in an "ARTPOP" cover. The talented artist has created a breathtaking sculpture of Lady Gaga which will be used as the artwork for her upcoming album "ARTPOP."

"I'm nervous and excited to share something that's such a piece of my heart. Something I cherish deeply. A real depiction of my mind through his," the 27-year-old singer tweeted ahead of the unveiling of the art cover.

"One second I'm a Koons, then suddenly the Koons is me," Gaga wrote on her Twitter account as she unveiled the cover. The words have references in her lyrics in "Applause." The cover will be revealed on digital billboards in 12 cities around the world starting Tuesday, Rolling Stone magazine reports.

The artwork, which shows Lady Gaga sitting naked in a "full foetal position" with a huge blue ball between her legs, is reportedly an inspiration from Sandro Botticelli's classic 1486 painting "The Birth of Venus."

"Full fetal position does anyone else hear the screams in my head," an excited Gaga wrote on Twitter. Many of Gaga's fans found the picture of the singer a little lifeless and pale in the artwork and the reason behind it is that it is a sculptor and not a photograph. The singer appears without much makeup with her long hair touching her forehead in blonde bangs.

Gaga is all praises for Koons.

"Please welcome Jeff Koons into our family +shower him with love for the talents he has shared with us. A pure and genuine collaborator," Gaga wrote about Koons on Twitter.

While the original painting is about the naked goddess emerging from the sea as a woman, Lady Gaga's cover looks like she is depicting the act of giving birth. For those who don't know, the ball is a Jeff Koons Gazing Ball, for which the New York-based artist is famous for.

Koons' sculpture of Lady Gaga will also be exhibited at the release of her album "ARTPOP."

"There is also a surprise! The center image of me is a new Jeff Koons sculpture to be exhibited Nov 10 at the artRAVE ARTPOP's release party!," Gaga told her fans on Twitter.

ARTPOP is set for release on Nov 11. Gaga is also set to make her film debut this Friday in "Machete Kills."
