Lady Gaga Wants to Play Amy Winehouse in Biopic [PHOTOS]

It seems that the eccentric "Judas" singer can't keep her two cents off from the tragic death of Amy Winehouse as she announces her interest to play the late singer in the movie.

Although there are still no production details or offers going around, there is buzz that if ever there's going to be an Amy Winehouse biopic, Lady Gaga is willing to play the lead. A reliable insider, who allegedly works for Lady Gaga's PR team, spoke to The Daily Mail about the "Born This Way" singer's interest. "Lady Gaga worshiped Amy and would love nothing more than to transform herself into her idol on the big screen," says the insider in the interview as transcribed by Idolator.com.

"She'd be spot on performing Amy's songs and has got the right look and bolshy attitude," continues the insider in the same post. Earlier last week, Lady Gaga has spoken about how fans used to mistake her for the British singer in the past, screaming "Amy, Amy!" The insider continues "Gaga's been itching to make the transition from music into movies and sees this as the ideal role to launch her film career" in the same Idolator post.

Although Lady Gaga fans would get excited for this rumor to come true, it's quite impossible for hard core Amy Winehouse fans and devotees to see the "Telephone" singer playing the soulful jazz talent that is Winehouse. Lady Gaga has her ways to get famous, and that was her use of outrageous clothing, but Winehouse had pure talent, one that not even Lady Gaga can achieve in a million years. After the post, fans are already reacting. One said "First of all, Lady Gaga is a 'Pop Singer' and not a Jazz Vocalist like Amy Winehouse. I think it would be in very bad taste for Lady Gaga to do this".
