While it goes without saying that controversy as well as shock and awe follow Lady Gaga most wherever she goes, a recent visit to India proves that the performer can still surprise us in ways unlike that which we have come to expect from her.

Gaga made quite the entrance at the first F1 Grand Prix at Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida by wearing an understated (by her standards) gown made by an Indian designer, Naeem Khan, who is based in New York.

At a press conference staged at the Taj Mansingh Hotel in Delhi, the singer stunned many by choosing a floor length number that had no puppet ornaments, neither was it accessorized by a meat purse. The striking garment was worn with a relatively simple necklace while the 25-year-old's hair was held up in a bun that showed off the colors of the Indian flag.

Looking incredibly classy and fierce, Gaga fielded questions about her life outside of performing and the occasional fashion query.

So much of Gaga's cultivated personality is sewn in the fabric of keeping her audience guessing what she'll wear next that it's impossible to think of her without considering the over-the-top shoes and outfits.

"I wake up and put on the things that make me feel good. It's just that sometimes the things that make me feel good are a muppet or a dress by a beautiful Indian designer," The "Born This Way" songster explained her bizarre fashion choices to the press.

"I feel so blessed. I never would have imagined years ago that I would be able to come to India and perform and to meet my new amazing fans that are here. The sights in India are beautiful but the most beautiful sights are the people," Gaga graciously disclosed.
