Twnty-eight-year-old Simon Bradley from San Diego, California, would rather watch the Black Mamba return from play after missing the last few months because of a torn Achilles surgery, rather than start the new life with his future wife.

Bradley, who has confessed to being an “obsessed” Los Angeles Lakers fan, postponed his wedding with fiance’ Melissa because of a single reason: Kobe Bryant was returning to the hardwood and will be playing in his first game of the 2013-2014 NBA regular season against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, the same day of the couple’s wedding.

Apparently, the Lakers fanatic promised his fiancé that they will set a future date for the marriage ceremony, which initially had 60 guests invited and that he plans to be in attendance at Staples Center Sunday night instead of the wedding.

The 35-year-old Bryant tore his Achilles tendon on April 12, 2013, in a game versus the Golden State Warriors and Sunday will mark the 240th day since the injury.

According to Lakers head coach Mike D’Antoni, Bryant will most likely see limited minutes of action against the Raptors.

“I don’t feel like I have any limitations really,” Bryant said to the team’s official Web site after the team’s practice on Thursday.

Good news for Mr. Bradley, who is expected to be in attendance at the Staples Center Sunday night.

For those not counting, Bradley has zero rings to Kobe Bryant’s five.
