The popular entertainment Web site TMZ got caught up on Thursday with Lamar Odom on Rhode Island where he is currently training with Rob McClanaghan. Odom talked to TMZ and amicably answered the questions, unlike those times when he used to steer away from the media and the paparazzi.

TMZ asked Odom how he has been doing with his training in Rhode Island, instead of doing it in Los Angeles. "It's going well," said Lamar. He also talked about how important basketball is in his life. "Basketball is a big part of my life, and I guess it was all about legacy, you know what I'm saying, the way I wanted to go out, I haven't played up to my expectations in the last couple of seasons so it is just time to like, end it right," he said.

Odom last played for the NBA in the 2012-2013 season with the Los Angeles Clippers. Rumours of Lamar playing for the Clippers against were fired up after it has been reported that Odom met Coach Doc Rivers.

However, Odom told TMZ the real score regarding the news of him signing with Clippers. "No, no no no, if I said that, I mean, I didn't mean it, I love the Clippers organization because they are showing great interest but I think it is up to my representation," he said. "The Clippers are one of my favorite teams right now, but there's also some teams that I would have to look at.

Odom seemed to have admitted, though not directly, his addiction issues. "It is all about going out the right way, and I think because of some things that happened this summer, I kinda put basketball aside and waited 'til the time is right," he said.

So it looks like Lamar is really headed to the right path. We can only wish him best. For sure, his fans would love to see him back in the hardcourt.
