Lamar Odom thinks he can combat his addiction without going to rehab.

The professional basketball player, who played forward for the Los Angeles Lakers, has recently been going through a tough time. Firstly, his drug problems are just gotten worse, reports say. Secondly, his marriage with celebrity Khloe Kardashian is collapsing.

Lamar has fallen deep into his addiction over the summer. He was reportedly spending as much as $800 daily to support his drug habit. According to Hollywood Life, a security guard who used to work for him said that Lamar's alleged drug addiction has gotten out of hand that he showed signs of terror and suspicion, saying that the security guards were spying on him.

On Thursday, pictures of Lamar looking dreadfully thin and skinny as ever, have surfaced the Internet. Drug abuse really takes quite a toll on the lives of people.

However, Lamar Odom claims that he has been somber for five days now, as reported by TMZ. The NBA Sixth Man of the Year believes he can keep up with his abstinence without the need to go to a rehab. In 2012, Lamar has been into rehab. He stayed there for three weeks, also according to TMZ. This time around, he doesn't welcome the idea of enrolling himself in a rehab programme but says he is open to seek professional help only in private.

As for now, Lamar will continue to cure himself and combat his addiction problems through self-healing. He said he has done it before so he is pretty confident that he can do it again. Maybe this is the time when the power of someone's mind comes to play. However, do you think it is really possible to get rid of someone else's drug habit without entering a rehab?

Lamar Odom already eliminated some of his friends so he doesn't fall back. He said that his main motivation, aside for saving his marriage, is his basketball career.
