Lamar Odom makes first public appearance after health scare, guests at Kanye West's show
For the first time since he was hospitalised for drug overdose, Lamar Odom was seen in public, attending Kanye West's Yeezy Season 3 show at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
On Thursday, the former NBA player attended the star-studded live event to support West, who unveiled his new album, “The Life of Pablo.” Odom made his first public appearance with his estranged wife Khloe Kardashian. The two, who are still legally married despite being separated, were reported to board a private jet on a red-eye flight to New York City, according to E! News.
Other members of the highly popular Kardashian-Jenner family were also present at the event, led by West’s wife, Kim. She and the other stars of the reality show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” including Kourtney, Kris, Caitlyn, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, wore white at Yeezy Season 3. In its official Twitter account, the show posted a photo of Odom as he makes an entrance with West.
Odom was very nervous to be making his first public appearance, according to the E! News report. “Kanye personally invited him, but he wouldn't make this huge appearance without the support and green light from Khloe,” says the entertainment site’s source. “[She] is making all the calls on what Lamar is doing and who he speaks to this trip and won't be leaving his side.”
In October 2015, Odom was rushed to the hospital after being discovered unconscious at the Love Ranch, a legal brothel in Crystal, Nevada. The incident was a result of a three-day overdose of cocaine and sexual performance enhancement substances. The police said that Odom had used up to 10 tabs of sexual performance supplements, according to a report by USA Today.
The 36-year old former basketball player was in a coma and placed on life support. He regained consciousness but suffered from other medical scares, including several strokes and kidney failure. In January 2015, Odom was reported to leave the hospital, and was on his road to recovery.
