American singer and songwriter Lana Del Ray added a few days extra in her tour in the land down under after tickets for her initial show were sold out in an hour.

The singer will play additional shows at the Palace Theatre, Melbourne, on July 24, and at the Enmore Theatre, Sydney, on July 27.

Lana Del Ray will be in Australia as part of her Splendour In The Grass Tour. The singer was due to make her Australian live debut last year but it was cancelled after the hype around her intensified and her worldwide fan base grow.

She will also play the Palace Theatre on July 23 and the Enmore Theatre on July 26.

After her overnight success with her homemade video for her song Video Games, Lana Del Ray rose to stardom and suddenly found herself on tour and doing press conferences.

However, her success is eight years in the making. She started her career as a singer during her teenage years writing songs in New York. Playing for clubs was her stepping stone.

Her self-titled album was briefly available in iTunes in 2010 but Del Ray bought it back. She posted her Video Games video on YouTube and garnered so many views and it became a single to her official debut album under Interscope Records "Born To Die."

Del Ray's album topped the charts of more than seven countries including United Kingdom and Australia.

Secret Sounds made Lana Del Ray's performance in Australia possible. Tickets are now available at Ticketek.com.
