Land in Melbourne's Officer now open for inquiries
A 11.73 hectare parcel of land located in Officer and part of the VicUrban landholdings is now accepting expressions of interest.
Expressions of interest close on March 2, 2011.The site, which has substantial frontage to Princes Highway, would suit a mix of potential development opportunities including medium to high density residential and retirement living subject to Council’s approval of an overall development plan that is consistent with the Officer Precinct Structure Plan.
The Officer Precinct Structure Plan is being developed by the Shire of Cardinia and the Growth Areas Authority and is expected to be finalized in late 2011.
VicUrban General Manager Urban Communities, Rob Vines, said VicUrban was releasing the land, which sits apart from VicUrban’s other landholdings in Officer. VicUrban typically releases these sorts of development sites to the market.
“Initial works at VicUrban’s landholdings in Officer, called VicUrban@Officer, are scheduled to start in April this year. VicUrban’s landholdings at Officer will develop into a community over the next 12-15 years and be home to a mixed use town centre, providing housing for up to 12,000 people," he said. “VicUrban is pleased to be able to continue to open up investment opportunities for the private sector to respond to the possibilities available on this site.
The site is adjacent to the existing Officer Train Station on the Pakenham line, five minutes to Pakenham and 20 minutes to Dandenong by train and is located between the Princes Highway and Pakenham bypass.
