She has tweeted about everything, from her high career goals, her self doubt to her love life, but Lara Bingle announced yesterday that she will be cancelling her Twitter account.

The Australian model, who is currently in New York, was attacked after she asked her more than 16,000 followers if they thought she should start a legal career at the prestigious New York Law School.

A gossip columnist apparently criticised her lack of a high school degree. Hours later, Bingle deleted her long-held account.

She, however, left Twitter with one final patriotic thought "GO STOSUR!"

Unlike other celebrities, Bingle has always been very open in sharing her thoughts on Twitter. She also used it to communicate with fans, friends and former fiance Michael Clarke.

When she and the cricket captain split earlier this year, she expressed her very private feelings to the world using the social media website.

At the height of the drama Bingle tweeted "Wish you were here" where she referred to both Clarke and her late father.

She also expressed her feelings on the followers that she has, posting "I wonder just how many of my followers are actually haters!!!'"

Bingle's friend Mia Jones told the news on the model's fan-run Twitter page when asked where Bingle had gone to.

"She deleted it, the media and haters won," she wrote.
