Laura Marling Returns to Australia This July for Splendour 2013; Sideshows In Church Setting
English Indie folk sensation Laura Marling returns to Australia this July to play at Splendour in the Grass 2013. In addition, her sideshows at Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne will be in an intimate church setting.
Marling's first visit in Australia was backed in 2012 for the St. Jerome's Laneway Festival in Sydney. This will be her fourth time to grace the country to perform for her Aussie fans.
Her latest album, Once I Was An Eagle, garnered praises from music critics and audience.The Songs 'I Was An Eagle, 'Pray For Me' and 'Master Hunter' from the new record has been released since mid-2011.
The nu-folk songstress once dated frontmant Marcus Mumford from Mumford & Sons, who are also headlining Splendour 2013 on July 26th.
Marling recently revealed she was trained as a butcher who specializes in cooking lamb, and once served Blur's Damon Albarn an overcooked meal. She gave up her chef dreams when Albarn sent back the meal she had prepared for him in an unnamed restaurant in London.
"That was my last night at the restaurant. I went out with much glory," she told Rolling Stone.
Meanwhile, tickets for Splendour 2013 have already sold out. She is scheduled to perform on July 28, Friday at the G.W. McLennan stage from 10:15 to 11:15 in the evening. Her set will clash with Aussie electronic music duo The Presets at the Mix Up Stage.
Splendour in the Grass 2013 happens from July 26 to 28 at North Byron Parklands, NSW. Show schedules can be downloaded via app on Apple and Android.
