There were reports swirling that Laurina Fleure, the most interesting, high-maintenance, street-pie-hating diva of “The Bachelor Australia” Season 2, is going to be Australia’s first Bachelorette. Melbourne based fashion designer has not released a statement denying or confirming the reports, but she shared a photo of herself on Instagram, saying that she underwent a major stomach surgey. She revealed that the surgery was the reason behind her disappearance from social media.

According to news.com.au, the caption of the picture reads, “A bit of speculation about why I’ve been off social media!! It’s bc [because] I was in hospital undergoing major stomach surgery that stemmed from a childhood complication!! #I’mallbetternow #fullyrecovered.” Recently on Feb. 26, Laurina posted a photo of herself having dinner at “the Commons Local Eating House and Downtown Bar.”

Citing a source, who is said to be close to Laurina, Sydney Morning Herald (SMH) had reported that Laurina could star in the first edition of Australia’s Bachelorette. The report had also said that Laurina’s absence from social media has strengthened the speculation.

Meanwhile, according to SMH, sources have confirmed to Fairfax Media that architecture firms have been approached to find potential bachelors for the show. In addition, Western Australia based fire-fighters are also in demand. The report has quoted Channel Ten’s spokeswoman as saying that the show is "in the early stages of casting." Channel Ten has yet to announce the premiere date of “The Bachelorette Australia.” SMH has reported that the show is likely to telecast later this year.

After Blake Garvey, the bachelor of Season 2, called off his engagement with Sam Frost, it was being speculated that Sam may sign on to become Australia’s first Bachelorette. Garvey proposed to Sam in the final episode of “The Bachelor Australia” but it was soon revealed that he was interested in Louise Pillidge, the second runner-up, and had pulled the plug on his and Sam's engagement a few weeks before the final episode telecast.

Daily Telegraph had reported that Sam has killed her chance of starring in the “The Bachelorette Australia” because she has been “overexposed.” After the break-up, Sam had gone on an interview giving spree and was also seen at a number of parties.
