Lea Michele of 'Glee' Has 'Brunette Ambition’, Treasures Cory Monteith Jewelry

In her book "Brunette Ambition", Lea Michele shares advices, personal motivations, and also tackles everything from fashion tips, skincare rituals, fitness routine and even her favourite recipes.

Below, E! Online gives fans a little preview of the "Glee" star's book, which will hit stands on May 20.

1) She stole a little makeup trick from Carrie Bradshaw.

Lea Michele had apparently also struggled with acne just like everyone else. Thus she has picked up a concealing trick from Sex and the City when Carrie uses black eyeliner to turn a pimple into a beauty mark. But hers didn't come out beautiful since her face was ridden with pimples.

"I've been on Accutane twice. In fact, you know those kids who become nearly suicidal about their acne? I've walked that fine line," she said.

2) She's obsessed with another brunette style.

Despite her fashionable sense, Lea Michele still gets inspiration from another Hollywood fashionista, Rachel Bilson. Lea claims she loves the petite's effortless and comfortable style.

3) She encourages petite girls to expose lots of skin.

The petite singer admits that if you're short you need to show as much skin as possible. Although it may seem unintentionally vulgar, the "Glee" star isn't ashamed to flaunt her figure in a mini-dress. She even takes her dresses to the tailor to have them shortened even more.

4) Her most important jewelleries have serious sentimental value.

"My grandfather bought me a necklace before he passed away that I'll always cherish. It's a small diamond necklace, and I love it so much," Lea said.

Lea Michele also keeps a sweet reminder of late boyfriend Cory Monteith. She treasures the "Finn" necklace Rachel has from "Glee".

5) Sometimes designer dresses are unhealthy.

It's not all fun wearing dresses that makes you sick. You have to be able to breathe in it.

Michele recalls wearing a stunning, twenty pound Marchesa dress to the 2011 People's Choice Awards that made her sick, and missed the dinner after the program. She had to go home and change since the dress was literally pulling her to the ground.

6) One of her favourite red carpet moments happened with Cory.

Michele wore a gorgeous Puci dress with low back and was so excited for Cory to see it.

"Brunette Ambition" also features some revealing anecdotes and some never- before-seen-photos e.g. Lea's yearbook photos.
