Lea Michele could not be more proud of her album "Louder," especially that her late boyfriend Cory Monteith has his seal of approval in almost all of the 11 tracks.

The "Glee" star visits Elvis Duran and the Z100 Morning Show last Monday and talks about the album which is due in record stores and in iTunes on March 4.

Lea mentions in particular the single "Cannonball" which songwriter Sia penned around the time of Cory's passing.

'Cannonball' - immediately I had a physical reaction to this song,' says Lea. 'It's more than just a song for me. It has helped me so much in this process personally. It's given me strength; it's given me hope. I get upset thinking about it, it's really inspiring.'

Lea also shares with Z100 how Cory got to listen to nine out of 11 tracks in the album before he died.

'What I love so much about the album, with the exception of two songs he [Cory] heard every single song,' says Lea. 'He was like my biggest fan and critic and he loved every song! He would give me all of his notes and I took every one into consideration.'

Even the album's release date has a significance for Lea, as she shares that it means 'marching forth in life.' However, she made it clear that she did not pick out the said date.

'I had a day in my mind but I got an email and they were like 'Oh, it's going to come out March 4th' and I was like 'That is so meant to be',' exclaims the singer.

In her interview with Ellen DeGeneres last Thursday, the former Broadway actress dishes out the story behind "Cannonball," which happened during a session with Sia where they wrote "If You Say So" in honor of Cory.

'I explained to her (Sia) you know how grief really just...you can get sucked into it. You can literally lose yourself if you don't actually die from it, you can lose yourself completely. And I said to her, 'I need to get out. I need to get out of my house. He would want me to live my life. I have to do this.

'She said, 'Oh, that's so crazy cause I wrote this song, it's called 'Cannonball,' and you just said the lyrics.' She played it for me, and the minute I heard the song, it lifted me up. It picked me up from everything.'
