The next iPhone model getting prepared for its launch this fall will reportedly retain the exteriors of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Unconfirmed reports suggest that Apple would not offer any major changes to the new iPhone’s exteriors but a lot of changes and upgrades could be expected under the hood.

9 to 5 Mac got its hands on the images of the iPhone 6S’s external metal casing and the internals of the next iPhone through one of its sources. The publication notes that the upcoming iPhone will sport a rear design that is identical to the current iPhone. The leaked images do not sport remarkable external changes coming from iPhone 6, with the Space Gray color given a lighter shade to contrast well with the darker Space Gray Apple Watch. It is expected that Apple’s final hardware could be fine tuned little more. As suggested by the sources of 9 to 5 Mac, it is difficult to notice any potential difference in thickness or width on the 4.7-inch iPhone 6-sized device.

The internals of iPhone 6S frame get small changes, especially in the mounting points for the smartphone’s new logic board and components. The chances of iPhone 6S getting a dual-lens camera system is quite unlikely due to the rear shell’s identical holes for camera, microphone, and LED flash, as per 9 to 5 Mac.

The antenna lines are likely to be present in the iPhone 6S lineup unless the company decides to incorporate any change in the casing. Apple had recently applied for a patent on a technique that will hide the antenna lines on iPhone’s rear with an anodized metal appearance. The bottom design of the iPhone 6S appears exactly the same as the previous model, be it the position of the headphone, number of speaker holes, lightening holes and microphone.

According to CNET, the iPhone 6S is likely to get a new processor, most likely, the A9 and will sport the same 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches screen sizes that is featured in the company’s current models. Besides that, a report on Bloomberg suggests that the new iPhone models will include a Force Touch display, which the company debuted with its Apple Watch and new MacBook.

Reports on iPhone 6S likely to get a Qualcomm developed LTE chip that would offer better battery life and faster web connectivity is already rife now. The iPhone 6S is likely to get a Qualcomm-developed chip known as the MDM9635M, which is also known as the “9X35” Gobi modem platform. The new chip assures to deliver significant improvements over the “9X25″ chip that currently does duty inside the current iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, reported 9 to 5 Mac.
