Leaked Sony Movies Like Spider-Man And Angry Birds Are Up For Release Until 2017
The massive Sony hacking controversy has compromised several executive's emails and has allegedly leaked online. The hackers who hit the company's inbox have already revealed a long list of unreleased Sony movies. Some data that were leaked even contained personal details for Sony employees, controversial email exchanges between top Sony executives and plans and projects in the future.
A big chunk of the leaked inbox of Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal includes several movie drafts for the future and even list of scheduled releases that are set as far as 2017. According to Business Insider, rumoured movie projects like "Men in Black" and "Jump Street" crossover, "Zorro" and "Django Unchained" are some of the titles leaked. Apparently, there are several movies for 2016 and 2017 that were also divulged by the Sony hackers.
The November 12 email outlines notes on upcoming movies for 2016 like: "Uncharted", "Sinister" which might be a probable "Spider-Man" spin-off, "Ghostbusters", "Angry Birds" movie which is set for July release, "Greyman" based on Mark Greaney's "The Gray Man" novel, "Winters Knight", "Fifth Wave", "Inferno" which is an adaptation from one of Dan Brown's books in "The Da Vinci Code" series, "Billy Lynn" which is also an adaptation of author Ben Fountain's "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk", "Baby Driver" and the remake of the famous film "Little Woman".
On the other hand, the 2017 leaked movies are as follows: the rumoured Angelina Jolie starrer "Cleopatra", "Bond" and "Spiderman" which might be another spin-off or a new movie all together. The list also named some unclear movie titles like "Monkeys" and "Girl Team Up".
In addition, a separate email has also revealed additional titles that might go to production in the coming years. Movie projects include the second part of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" series and "Grown Ups 3". The email also revealed sequels to Angelina Jolie's "Salt" movie, "Hotel Transylvania", Denzel Washington's "The Equalizer" and the third installment of the "Smurfs" movie, BGR reports.
Regarding Denzel Washington's "The Equalizer", Sony has promised a script by December and director Antoine Fuqua together with Washington are expected to return to film next summer to reach the 2016 fall release. Meanwhile, speculations say that Sony is considering a 3D version for "23 Jump Street and might rate the film as PG-13.
