Leap Motion On Sale Exclusively in Australia
Leap Motion announced on Oct 10 that it has gone on sale exclusively in Australia through Dick Smith retail stores.
"The Leap Motion Controller is a new way to do things on your computer just by moving your hands and fingers in the air. It comes with Airspace, the Leap Motion App Store, where you'll find all-new kinds of apps made for this technology. Wave a hand or lift a finger, and you can make music and art, fly a plane, drive a race car, play air guitar for real, browse the web and navigate your desktop," described the Dick Smith Web site.
Before its official partnership with Dick Smith, Leap Motion can only be purchased online for the price of $104.99, plus $32.99 for shipping.
But starting Oct 10, Dick Smith will be selling Leap Motion online for $129.95.
According to Leap Motion's President and COO, Andy Miller, Dick Smith's strong visibility all throughout Australia has made the company the perfect fit for an exclusive sale of Leap Motion.
"Dick Smith has more than 270 retail stores, a presence in many high-profile David Jones stores and a popular online retail site, making it the perfect partner for Leap Motion to launch in Australia. It's also an ideal place for even more people to experience the magic of using just their hands in the air to play, learn, and create on their computers," Mr Miller said.
Users can practically use their computers without touching anything with Leap Motion's three dimensional and interactive features.
The Leap Motion Controller, which measures only 3 inches long, can detect all ten fingers from up to 1/100th of a millimeter.
Leap Motion works with Windows 7 or 8 or Mac OS X 10.7 Lion. For system requirements, it needs a minimum of AMD PhenomTM II or Intel® CoreTM i3, i5, i7 processor, 2GB RAM and a working USB 2.0 Port.
To set up the Leap Motion Controller, users will just have to plug the device into the USB port of a Mac or PC and download the free software.
Leap Motion can bring users into all new dimensions.
