LeBron James' Alleged Three-Day Mini-Camp Emerges Online
It comes as no surprise that LeBron James is taking no chances at leading the Los Angeles Lakers back into the NBA title hunt.
He is expected to do whatever it takes, including an alleged secret three-day mini-camp.
But somehow, a student with the handle @LakeShowChris_ was able to capture some footage and shared it on Twitter.
As of this writing, the said video has gotten over 491,000 views after being put up for about a day. The video was taken from afar although the name “LeBron” was mentioned.
Before the clip ended, someone taking a shot from afar appears to be Russell Westbrook.
James appears to be determined to mold the Lakers and win the franchise’s 18th NBA title. On paper, the squad has a stellar lineup although their aging lineup has been criticized.
In the eyes of some pundits, the ability of the Lakers to keep these veteran stars healthy until the playoffs will be under scrutiny.
The four-time NBA champion himself has taken the initiative. Instead of bulking up, the 36-year-old opted to slim down, according to Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka.
“He’s slimmed up. And we all know LeBron studies the greats, and he adds things into his game, and I think going into this stage of his career, he’s made a decision to come back a little bit leaner, and I think that’s going to translate in his explosiveness and quickness,” Pelinka said during an interview.
Along with Anthony Davis, James will be sharing the floor with Westbrook and DeAndre Jordan.
Several former Lakers are also back in the fold such as Dwight Howard, Wayne Ellington and Rajon Rondo.
However, the Lakers roster is not entirely made up of players above 30 years old. Kendrick Nunn, Talen Horton-Tucker and Malik Monk are young rising players on the roster.
It will be interesting how head coach Frank Vogel will be able to utilize the younger players and make sure that the veterans are kept healthy for the 2021-22 season.
