LeBron James Follows A Strict Paleo diet: Unveils Latest Signature Shoe,'Lebron 12' From Nike
Thanks to the Weight Loss Due to His Low Carb Paleo Diet, The NBA Star Was Inspired to Release a Lightweight Sneaker
LeBron James has been working out and following a strict diet. He shocked his fans after a 10-pound weight loss in summer. He then posted a picture of himself on Instagram in which he looks extremely slim.
Cleveland Cavalier LeBron James revealed the secret to his weight loss. He stated that he follows a low carb Paleo diet and also admitted that the diet was a mental challenge for him.
According to the Examiner, he planned to follow the diet only for a month, but he said that after he saw the benefits of the diet, he continued following it. James said that he not only lost weight but also felt more energetic and livelier with the diet.
A four-time MVP, James listed the items that he could eat and all those foods he had to omit from his menu. For 67 days, he had only vegetables, meat, fish and fruits, he said. He did not touch sugar, dairy products and carbs.
He was inspired by his former Miami Heat teammate Ray Allen, who had lost 10 pounds in a short period, thanks to the Paleo diet. The Examiner reported that most sportsmen favour the diet as one can lose weight quickly. Ketogenic diet expert Dr Jeff Volek and professor at Ohio State University told Sports Illustrated that low carb, high-fat diets such as the Paleo and ketogenic plans help lose weight fast and change the body composition and that is why James has taken to the diet.
While the rapid weight loss has shocked his fans, the NBA star has also unveiled his new signature sneakers, "LeBron 12." The line was officially unveiled at the Nike World Headquarters on Tuesday where he explained that the shoes were inspired by his weight loss, reported CBS news.
The "LeBron 12" incorporates the "Flywire" technology that gives maximum strength and is extremely lightweight. He explained that he wanted a shoe that adds to his strengths and does not weigh him down. "The new technology is lightweight. It allows me to explode. When I land, it allows me to absorb the landings. It's great," he said.
He has been testing the shoes for a month and he said he had no issue, it was all perfect.
