LeBron James Proved That He Can Go All The Way
A lot of jokes have been going around about NBA star LeBron James. One joke, for instance, says James was walking down a street when stopped by a man who was begging him for money and he gave the beggar a dollar to which the beggar responded with "Thanks man, I thought you only had three quarters."
Those kinds of jokes were particularly about his tendency to be missing during the final quarter of the games, his inability to give winning shots in the most crucial seconds and his failure to win a title at the NBA.
LeBron James may be the fourth highest sportsman paid on the planet after Floyd Mayweather Jr., Manny Pacquiao and Tiger Woods. However, there will always be a question mark next to his name as one of the greatest player who has not yet gained the biggest honor in his sport.
In 2007, James led his Cleveland Cavaliers team to the finals but he played badly for the team got crushed 4-0 by the San Antonio Spurs. He was unlucky again last year when his favorite hot Miami Heat team lost 4-2 to Dallas Mavericks with Dirk Nowitzki on board.
However, making fun of LeBron can somehow stop now. Recently, the Miami Heat team completed the 4-1 finals victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder. This time around, James was able to raise his game at the right moment by delivering 26 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists in the clinching game encounter.
Well, it was definitely LeBron's season. He already won six "NBA Player of the Week" awards when nobody else did. LeBron also got his third "Most Valuable Player" award making him level with Larry Bird and Magic Johnson and it also made his achievement move close to record holders Michael Jordan and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Basically, none of it would have mattered if his finals jinx had not been finally broken.
Today, he really is standing tall at the peak of his basketball career and it is not bad for this guy who was born when his mother was only 16-years old and his ex-convict father left when he was born. The famous NBA star knew what poverty was as a kid growing up and admitted to spending time in foster care. LeBron has shared that sports carried him away from using drugs and being part of a gang.
"Sports, it was my way out," James said. The glory of sport does not really care where you came from but on what you have achieved. LeBron James made it through and he was able to prove all the way his capabilities, not only to himself, but to everyone who watches his every move.
