Already with the planet’s best player in LeBron James, the Cleveland Cavaliers are now in overdrive in surrounding him with players that will seriously contend for the NBA title.

The Ohio franchise is reportedly willing to give up their No. 1 selection in the 2014 NBA Draft in Andrew Wiggins in a potential trade that will net them Kevin Love of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Additionally, James has personally talked with the T’Wolves franchise player in convincing him to join him in Cleveland as per reports by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.

LeBron James has reached to tell Kevin Love of his desire for them to play together with the Cavaliers, front office sources tell Yahoo.

Cleveland’s initial offer was Dion Waiters, Anthony Bennett and a future first round pick—a package that apparently failed to get Minnesota’s attention. Including Wiggins, one of the top prospects to enter in 2014, could be the deal-breaker in the potential Minnesota-Cleveland trade.

The Cavs are not desperate to net Love, who will become a free agent after the 2014-2015 season, but with James involved it appears they are now very serious in acquiring the premiere stretch big man a year early.

Love has previously stated that he will opt out of his contract and explore free agency after the new season—a move that would put Minnesota in a tough situation where they couldn’t getting anything of value from their franchise player.

If LeBron is successful in wooing Love, the latter is expected to not only be traded to Cleveland but sign a long-term contract with the squad.

Love to Cavs would give the team a scary core of Kyrie Irving, who recently signed a long-term deal with the team, James and Love— inarguably, among the top players in their respective positions.

The 25-year-old power forward averaged 26.1 points (career-high) and 12.5 rebounds in 77 games for the Wolves in the 2013-2014 season.

Cleveland also acquired shooters James Jones and Mike Miller in the 2014 offseason and will also be bringing back big men Anderson Varejao and Tristan Thompson.

Can LeBron convince another superstar to join him in Cleveland? And will Minnesota budge this time, now that a top prospect is included?
