Leg Stranglehold Saves US Navy Female Sailor From Dubai Bus Driver Rape Attempt
Not because she's a lady meant she's weak. Or so thought a 21-year-old bus driver from Dubai who got beaten to a pulp no less than by a U.S. Navy female sailor when he tried to rape her right on his bus.
The 28-year-old Navy sailor, who was then on a 24-hour shore leave in Dubai, said she was forced to take the bus to head back to Khalid Port after having a hard time getting a cab in front of the Mall of the Emirates where she went to buy some stuff. The attempted rape incident happened on January 19.
The sailor immediately became suspicious when the bus driver rode through a maze of suspicious routes, later on pulling into secluded parking lot where he began to attack her.
"I noticed he did not take the main road and when I asked him he told me not to worry," she said during court proceedings.
When she refused his kisses and advances, the driver, identified as K S from Pakistan pulled out a knife and threatened her.
Of course trained much for combat battle, overcoming her assailant was a piece of cake. In a flash, the sailor knocked the knife out of his hand, broke it in two, bit him in the hand and wrestled him. The bus driver was ultimately taken down by a leg stranglehold around his neck.
She then left the bus and reported the incident to her commander at Port Khalid.
Arrested the following day, the driver claimed to have no memory of the sexual assault. Police said he was drunk when they arrested him.
Charged with "attempted rape, threatening to kill, assault and consuming alcohol illegally," he only pleaded guilty to the alcohol charge.
