Lego Mindstorms comfortably embraces the famous Apple devices such as the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch with the EV3 Kit. Lego proclaims the latest $350-worth Mindstorms robotics kit will have a talking ability with the mentioned Apple devices through Bluetooth wireless connections.

Lego confirmed this week about the Mindstorms EV3 Kit during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The company also declared that the kit will go on market sale on the second half of 2013.

The EV3 Kit includes hundreds of Lego bricks, four motors, five sensors and a new infrared unit which can be used as "robotic eyes" that can sense if a person is near to its head or it will allow a robot to follow instructions from a remote control. Also, the EV3 will be the first ever Mindstorms kit available with Chinese, Korean, Spanish and Russian languages. The previous kits were available with English, Japanese and a couple of other European languages.

One prime improvement of the EV3 kit is the programmable brick which currently runs on Linux with a USB port and a micro SD card slot that Lego builders can utilize or include more features to their robots. However, the major innovation would be the easier EV3 brick communication via Bluetooth with the iOS apps where Apple's iPhones or iPads can have power over a Mindstorms robot.

Entering instructions directly into the EV3 brick through the LC or the provided PC software use will program the Lego builders' robotic creations. The kit includes a program that Lego created with Autodesk showing the detailed step-by-step 3D instructions for various projects.

The EV3 kit will also include instructions for 17 different robots like the walking humanoids and insect-like creatures. The recommended age for the Lego Mindstorms EV3 Kit users is 10 above.

2013 marks the 15th anniversary of the Lego Mindstorms Kit. Therefore, the company aimed for creating a product that will surely excite children who grew up with advanced technology.
