LEGO news: 'LEGO Dimensions’ gets 3 new packs, ‘LEGO Marvel’s Avengers’ gets Doctor Strange DLC pack
LEGO fans have a lot of new expansions to look forward to. Specifically, a couple of new packs are coming to two titles, “LEGO Dimensions” and “LEGO Marvel’s Avengers.”
For “LEGO Dimensions,” Warner Bros has announced that the packs will be based on three franchises, DC Comics, Ghostbusters and LEGO Ninjago. In a press release, Warner Bros revealed the different ways by which players can extend their experiences in the different worlds. For the “Ghostbusters” Slimer Fun Pack, players can construct Slimer, who can then activate a lot of abilities in solving puzzles and battling enemies.
The DC Comics-based fun pack is a buildable Bane Fun Pack. Using the LEGO Toy Pad to build Bane, players can access his Super Stealth, Big Transform and Hazard abilities. He also has 3-in-1 Drill Driver for boosting gameplay and the Bane Dig ‘n Drill and Bane Drill ‘n Blast for upgraded in-game abilities.
Finally, the LEGO Ninjago Lloyd Fun Pack will showcase buildable Lloyd minifigure, two Golden Katanas and a rebuildable 3-in-1 Golen Dragon.
Another “LEGO” title, “LEGO Marvel’s Avengers” is getting a new DLC pack in time for an upcoming movie. According to Screenrant, “The All-New All-Different Doctor Strange” pack will be coming out for the pack as part of the five-DLC pack for the franchise.
This pack will introduce Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme and his ally Clea. The objective is to travel to the Dark Dimension and battle against Dormammu and Mordo. The Doctor Strange DLC will also introduce a handful of other characters, including Doctor Voodoo, Jennifer Kale, Night Nurse and Mindless One Warrior.
According to the source, there are a few differences in the “LEGO Marvel’s Avengers” main game, particularly the addition of a magical axe and some moves. But more importantly, the Dark Dimension is one that harks to the comics’ version of the experience.
“We wanted to retell a classic Doctor Strange story, in a new and uniquely LEGO way, so when players experience the Dark Dimension, we’re hoping they see nods to classic comic books in there as that is where we went with the level,” said Game Director Arthur Parsons as quoted by Screenrant.
The All-New, All-Different Doctor Strange Character and Level Pack is part of the DLC lineup that includes the Classic Captain Marvel pack, the Classic Masters of Evil pack, the Classic Black Panther pack and the Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pack.
