‘LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ to launch in Australia, New Zealand in June, PS4 and PS3 to have exclusive bonuses
A new “LEGO Star Wars” game is coming this year. Warner Bros, TT Games, The LEGO Group and Lucasfilm confirmed that the “LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will be a new leg in the franchise.
Set to debut in Australia and New Zealand on June 29, Warner Bros confirmed via a press releases that the new title will bring in a new way to play, build and explore the galaxy. More than an expansion of the universe, players will also get to explore content that delves the period that happened between “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi” and “Star Wars: The Force Awaken,” giving its characters more depth and the players more understanding of the events.

This new title serves as a follow-up to the previous “LEGO Star Wars” videogame released for the franchise. According to TT Games Managing Director Tom Stone, the franchise has already sold over 33 million copies. “LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens” propels this even further.
“We are delighted to return to the ‘Star Wars’ Universe and continue the journey with the franchise that started it all for LEGO videogames,” said Niels Jorgensen, VP for Digital Games for the LEGO Group said in a press release. “’LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ will offer an amazing gaming experience covering not only the movie but also exclusive content with all the fun and humour you would expect from a LEGO game, while delivering the epic ‘Star Wars’ adventure
The goal of the new series is to bring new and improved gameplay mechanics into the mix as well as expanding the universe covered in the game.
Sony had shown off a few screenshots for the upcoming game. Over at PlayStation Blog, Sony features some in-game images, showing off Stormtroopers, droid BB-8, the Millennium Falcon, Rey, Finn and the unbeatable duo, Chewbacca and Han Solo in their older roles. There is also an announcement trailer showing all the action, as seen below.
Other notable characters from the movie “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens” are also coming to the LEGO universe. These include Poe Dameron, Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma and fan-favourite C-3PO.
“LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will debut on the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, PS Vita, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and the PC. PS4 and PS3 players will enjoy some bonus extras in the form of exclusive DLC content. These are the Droid Character Pack and the Phantom Limb Level Pack.
